about
“Blacker Than Coal” is the second single from Crayola Eyes’ full-length debut album scheduled to be released later this year through La Munai Records. It’s an atmospheric track that gradually turns into a wall-of-sound whirlwind, emphasized by the usage of arpeggio and violin — with help from NonaRia’s Yasintha Pattiasina — during its climactic part.
Crayola Eyes regarded “Blacker Than Coal” as the song that most encapsulates their new sound, which resulted from an alchemical combination of multi-layered instrumentation and elevated production showcased here. The band stated, half teasing, “This song can give listeners a clear picture about our upcoming album, be it in terms of arrangement, production, or others.”
lyrics
There’s a spectre in your stare
There is penance in your lies
The body rests bare
While the head fantasise
There’s a throb in my mind
There’s an ache in my soul
The spiritual mainline
Blacker than coal
Look at me, what do you see?
What you see is what you are
There’s a spectre in your stare
There is penance in your lies
The body rests bare
While the head fantasise
There’s a throb in my mind
There’s an ache in my soul
The spiritual mainline
Blacker than coal
Look at me, what do you see?
What you see is what you are
